FLL TEAM 38634
F.U.N.
For this year's Innovation Project, teams were required to create a solution for a problem with a building or public space in their community.
We chose to address the lack of universally accessible transportation and recreation in Weston, Massachusetts.
We designed the Town Travel Trail, a network of trails that connects neighborhoods, places, and people. It is designed to work for all user groups including children, the elderly, or people with disabilities.
We each chose an area of specialization: trail signage, historical and natural landmarks, encouraging use of the Town Travel Trail, cost efficiency, trail material and composition, accessible trail design, and plantings for the sides of the trail.
Members of our team met with the Weston Town Planner, Sudbury's Environmental Planner, historical experts from the Wayside Inn Foundation, the Sudbury Commission on Disability, a native plant specialist, representatives from Mass Audubon, and a UX product expert for input on our project.

Our project was featured by the Weston Town Planner on his web page!
